What to Know Before you Apply?

The length of the CHP Program is up to you. The minimum is 1 week but we recommend to plan your placement for 2 to 4 weeks. It is up to you if you want to stay at one department for several weeks or want to experience every week another one. Simply let us now via the CHP System.  More weeks mean more visited departments, more study materials, extended knowledge of the hospital and specialty routines, and the maximum benefit of your stay with us. Last but not least, you have higher chance to receive the positive evaluation from various mentors which is very helpful when appying to universities and for future employers.

How to Apply?

If you have found all the information you wanted to know about the Departments and Mentoring Teams, the only thing you need to do is to APPLY NOW! The Application Form is simple to fill in! Apart from your contact details, you are asked to choose your desired specialty, date of arrival and length of your participation in the CHP Program (in weeks). That's it!

After you apply, you obtain a login to the CHP System, with limited free access that will help you through the registration process. Afterwards, we check your preferences and the availability of placements, and you are asked to pay the Administration Fee (290 GBP/430 USD or 395 EUR). The Administration Fee is non-refundable as it includes administrative costs to process your application and personal data.

To have your placement booked and guaranteed, you are asked to pay the Final Payment of the total price according to the number of weeks you apply for. Please, check the Final Payment costs below. The price includes specialty shadowing, tutorials, and excursions, specialty study materials, accommodation and food, your insurance coverage from the arrival until your departure, our full support and CHP Program Certificate that confirms your attendance, hours and activities you participate in. We inform you about all of the payment details and always confirm when the payments have been received.

We will process your application as soon as possible, and ensure that the departments you are interested are currently available for when you plan to arrive. If for some reason your preferred departments are already booked, we will contact you to suggest alternative departments or dates of arrival.

How far in advance should I apply?

There are several steps in the application process. After the initial application, you will need to visit your physician in order to receive clearance to travel, as well as obtain Traveler's Insurance. Due to the limited space in our program, and our desire to have a very small ratio of students to mentors, some placements are filled far in advance. Because of this, we suggest that you begin the application process at least three months in advance, but the sooner you apply, the greater chance of being placed in the department you are most interested in. If for some reason you are interested in starting the application process within this three months window, please contact us directly and we will do everything we can to expedite your application.

All three of my mentors, Dr. Bartošova, Dr. Vrabcova and Dr. Pavličkova were giving their best to teach me and show me as much as possible in just one week. The amount of time which they devote to me was above my expectations and they truly had treated me as their fellow colleague. While being more than professional, they had also created warm and friendly teaching atmosphere and were always happy to answer my questions (which I had a lot :-)).

How to Pay

We want to make all easier for you, that's why we prepared more payment options to choose from. You can now pay:

  1. by a bank transfer,
  2. by a secure online link with a payment card (Visa, Maestro, MasterCard)
  3. or in particular cases by installments (we create an installment plan together).

We accept payments in the following currencies per our price list: USD, EUR and GBP.

As the CHP Program students are applying from all around the globe, we gladly recommend the service of TransferWise in case of transferring different currencies.

Due to the Payment Services Directive (new EU legislation), we had to increase the prices to be able to provide you further with the possibility of credit/debit card payments. No extra fees are from now on charged for the online card payments.
